Delco Felon Found With Gun, Drugs During Traffic Stop: Authorities

A Darby police officer stopped a Ford F-150 with an expired registration around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, the department said in a release.

While speaking with the driver, 47-year-old Edward Plumley of Aldan, the officer spotted "an open container of an alcoholic beverage" in the cupholder, authorities said.

After Plumley consented to a pat-down, the officer said he found a Ruger LCP .380 pistol in Plumley's waistband. Plumley is not eligible for gun ownership due to a prior felony and does not have a concealed carry license, authorities said.

Police said they also found cocaine, marijuana, $1,240 cash, and "a burnt glass pipe filled with copper wiring commonly used to ingest narcotics" on his person.

After getting a search warrant for his truck, officers claimed to find:

Plumley was charged with manufacture, delivery, or dossession with intent to deliver, felon not to possess a firearm, and related offenses in two separate cases, court records show. He remains in custody and has preliminary hearings scheduled for Jan. 21 and 22.
